my reflection

This hasn’t been the best year for me, but if I could go back I wouldn't change any thing. Everybody makes mistakes, and learn from them. So for me I will take all my down faults and put them to good use next year. In the beginning of the year I told my self I would only get A's and B’s, but things didn’t exactly turn out that way. I meant what I said about trying my best, and I did; but you don’t win every time you play a game. I know I will get it net time.
What this school year taught me besides my schoolwork, was trust? I realized I could trust ever one who called me their friends, because the ones who did are the ones who tore me down the most. I realized everyone wasn’t going to be loyal and trustworthy, everybody was different. And some, not in a good way. Yeah, I had to take it under the chin, that things like this happens, and things happen for a reason. (Hopefully a good one). Things this year really didn’t go how I planned it to, but this is only the start. I wont say I have time, but I have hope that things will smoothen out next year!
Have your opinions about people or the world changed since last year?
Yes it has. My school last year was like one big happy family, and coming to high school I thought it would be the same. With the teachers and students, but I have learned, its not! Maybe because I was use to the people I was around, wouldn’t you for 3 years? But since this was my first year I high school, I thought everyone would be mature and independent but it turned out people wee the complete opposite. The world is filled with different kind of people, and they all have a way of looking at life. Good and bad !!!!

finals are stressing

Finals are in a week , and a lot of students aren't ready. Complaining about what will be on these tests , and if they will past a lot. So I guess you can say , its some thing to stress about. The finals doesn't determine wheater you will go to the next grade or not , but it is an grade, that some students can afford and cannot afford. ( meaning if they score high or low ).

What if the more then half of students don't pass , then what ? We get punished, and get called names for that? I think the students had to learn their information from some where, so to get all the blame isn't right as a student. I'm not saying the test should be easy all the way through , but I think our feelings and thoughts should count. Now majority ( I believe ) of children will past and for the others , they did their best.
I don't think its right to put peopl down about their grades. Usually when a child gets a D adults see that as , a failure. They didn't try ,and they didn't want to try. But in most cases that is not true. What id they did try , just because they failed the first few times ( one or two ) doesn't mean they didn't try. You won't get perfect or score 100 every single time . Its a learning process that takes time. eventually they will get it , and keep on getting it , but adults don't see that half of the time. So yes , I think the finals are some thing to stress about for both students and teachers !

I Believe

One story we read in class was a "I believe" story. ABout a woman who believe that getting angry is okay, and it can be a good thing.In the story she explains how, getting angry lead her to a great place. When she was younger, she didn't exactly have the life she wanted. They told her, her parents belonged in an interment camp ( like in world war 2 with the japanese ). So when she got older, she got tired of people treating other they way her and her family got treated do she decided to do something about it. She got angry and took her steps, she helped 50immigrant families. she had down falls but she did what she had to do because she got angry

What do i think:I think getting angry doesn’t always help you to where you want to go to the place you want to go. I don’t completely agree, because to me it sounds like she saying being angry can only get you far and het you what you want. But the again it can help you for were you need to go (but that’s not the only choice you have). No more Mr. nice guy. Also I think she needs to be a little more clear on hat getting angry can make you do, it is a god and bad thing and doesn’t work in all problems. I think there’s a lot more to just getting angry, that a lot of people may not know about, so I agree and disagree.

This Blog is going to be about TV shows that may be a problem for our world today. For example, TV shows that only have one race (two in a half men or girls) people think shows should be more diverse and not just all white or all black.

Why do you think there is not that many shows on network television (abc, nbc, cbs, fox) with diverse casts?
The problem with that is, they might not believe black people aren’t educated enough, or just not what there looks for. I also believe that a lot of people today are still races. And not only on TV shows. Television does have a lot of universe characters. Meaning, it seems like TV stations and TV shows are in two different world. White and black. IT shouldn’t be that way. People are marching around, yelling they love black people or they over white people or whatever the case my be, but in reality its all just for show or just to be on TV!

A TV show I show I thought was racist was ‘Family Guy”. Family Guy is very racist, they show how they think black people act or how they suppose to act, and that’s the am for white people. It’s a shame that’s what they think about African American people. For example if there were to be a hip-hop scene, they would make the black or white person speak wit slang language. I really don’t think that’s right; children watch that show and many others!

Gun Fashion

i think the idea of making clothes to hide your gun is a very brainless idea. I mean who in the world came up with this plan. I have a lot of questions to ask, but probably wont get answered. For example, why did they let clothes lines, and fashion desingers make clothes for this type of activity, it just doesn't make since!If we were allowed to carry guns just because, this would really be an unsafe world for every one. I thought they were trying to make the world better by taking away guns, not bring them in to our lifes even more. Why would you want to support this. “Do you think this ‘trend’ in fashion will continue and more and more clothing manufacturers will create clothes for guns?” I do think if this trend becomes popular more and more clothing lines will make clothes for gun. Only because they want money, they might not really care about the fact that every one is carrying a gun, they are just worried about how much money they will make off of the product! “Do you think Americans should be allowed to carry guns?” I completely disagree. Now I am for people carrying around guns with a license, but with out one am just asking for trouble. I have heard in America some K-Marts sale guns over the coner (with a 3 day back round) but just the idea scares me. Some one is able to just buy guy with out any papers signed. What about the children in this world, what about there say. Also the adult that disagrees with this new law or rule. It just isn’t far !

Our health here at Parkway west

At our health fair at parkway west, a lot of people learned a lot of different things. About STD's and the different types they have. the effects and the how they may occur. About safe sex, and our health. First i will like to talk about, STD's, I have read the booklet and it shared a lot informational things with me. For example, herpes, can be spead during sex ( unprotected) and possible protected. Also it cannot be cured and it can be prsented for many years with no symtoms. Another STD I will like to talk about is Trichomiasis ( trich ) it is mainly for men.. that also can be spreaded during sex. Contuining the man can get an unhealty infection !! Last but not least I want to talk about Hepatitis B. It is another STD. But this can be recovered completely if you take all the right treatments for It. Now I will like to talk about the health part of the fair.I have been seeing at our lunch , we have been tryin to serve us health snacks and I think that's a good idea. But I also think , after that 1serving of health food , child buy 10more thingsof bad food , from the machines & from the things they have been selling. So that hass a cause and effect. I also think they give us the health choice because its there jobs not because they really want to , and that is understandable. But they sould do it with at least a little more care ! :)

Trayvon Martin

I didnt know him, but I heard about him and his case.

What that man did to him was unexplainable, who would have know rascim still roamed the earth today. A lot of people have there sides of trayvon and his killer, but to me there should be no sides. There is a lot of edvidence on trayvon's killer. Youtube videos , abc news and more. they said his killer called the cops about 42 times beofore trayvons call, they also said the man was drunk and had a record of beating on his wife.
As you heard the story before trayvon was walking to the store for an tea, and candy and just happened not to return home :( . Trayvon had tatoo's , he got suspended , and sold drugs. One of many teenages. The man that killed him said where he lives, you shot first and ask questions later. But if you are running after someone who wants nothing to do with you, your the one who is asking for trouble ( hes running from you , but you go after him ). Even the cops told NOT to run after him, but the man still did. So to me, he's asking for trouble!
A lot of people are getting involed with his case, a lot of famous people too. I cant think of what his mom and family is going through. Knowing how he died and what he died for.
When they finally found Trayvon Martin he was held with the police for a hour because the thought he didnt live ( couldnt afford ) to be in that neighborhood. Trayvon is now gone and everybody is praying for him and are doing what they can to help his family !

most births outside marriage .

For this blog post, i will be writing about having babies without being married.

Do you think it is a good thing that more and more women are having kids outside of marriage. Do you think this trend is a bad thing? explain
         i think it could go both ways. And to explain that, i think if women are just having babies just to have them is wrong. for example, if the baby dad has money, that could be a reason or if he says he love you, we don't need protection, that could be another reason. Women should think ay more then they do now before having a baby, some women are just to young and they don't think about the consecences until its too late. But again this could be a good thing, alot of women do make mistakes by having a child but they have plans to back it up. A lot of things can happen over time; they could be together and right before the baby is born, the father could leave( or the father could still be in the child's life). But the mother is ready for everything that comes her way, she might not really need a father because she knows her baby is all she needs to get through life. Some women are very independent and doesn't need to be married to have a child. so this trend could go both ways, i think it all depends on the age range and how the person behaves.

Are your parents marriage? Do you think it makes a difference whether or not they are in terms of how you were raised.
          My parents are not married, my mom has raised me the day she found out i was coming! my mom is a great women and a wonderful mother and i think she doesn't need a man in her life to do for her, she has her own and always will. My mother has taught me a lot over the years, things that i want to pass down to my children. I think my mom did a great job raising me, I am a independent young women who learned from the best. My one, single mother parent.
I wouldn't judge a women who has a child out side of a marriage because first, you don't know what they are going through, and second, A lot of women are strong, and can do for them selfs with out a man or being married.!

For my blog, i will be wrtining about Joseph Kony.

I completely disagree with what Joseph Kony has to offer to the kids in some parts of afria. I believe that Kony should have been stoped years ago. There are alot of ways we can help today. People from all over the world has come out to support and fight for the kids he is abducting. They are trying there hardest to capure him, and put him and jail. Tons of people pray, help, and create groups to help those kids be set free, but it seems like the more people want to help, the more children he is taking under his hands!
Joseph Kony is the world's worst war criminal. In 1987 he took over the rebel group and renamed it to " The Lord's Resistance Army" also known as the LRA. When Kony notice he was running out of fighters, he started abducting children and started turning them into soldiers for his army. Also turning the girls in wives for the officers. The LRA rapes, mutilate, and kill's civilians with blunt weapons. The LRA is no longer alive in northen Uganda ( where it first started ) but it continues to go on in Congo, Central Afria Republic, and in South Sudan. The 26years this has been going on, the LRA abducted more over 30,000 children and transpose about 2.1 million people!
         What Joseph Kony is doing is heart breaking. The invisible children has been working for 9 years to and Afria's longest running armed conflict. Those children doesnt have a say or chocie in what they want to do, but they do know this is not the answer! Joseph Kony makes those children kill there parents. He also makes them hurt eachother and other people so if they tried to go back home, their families might not accept them. He makes it hard for them so that they wont have anyone esle to lean on, but him. He is trying to turn them into monsters.At night the children of the north go into towns to sleep, fearing that they might be abducted. My answer: I am a little more conerned, but mostly everything i put on facebook isnt bad. Love qoutes, a little drama, and just what i do daily. I never put anyone down, or any curse words on my profile. Im not catch up in any babymama drama either. facebook for mee is just a site to see what my friends are doing, without calling or texting them every five minutes. I am also conerned because, i dont know what my future has in store and even though I know the things i put on face book isnt bad, they might not think the same. But like i said before, i am really not worried.

I do think they could be used against me, but there is no reason why it should. I act my age, if not older. I mean more mature, Probably more mature then half of my friends. But not only do I have my friends as friends on face book, I have my older Aunts, teachers, older cousins, And even my mom. So anything that is posted she is fine with, and if not, my mom will let me know at that moment!
I dont think people should go back into your OLD person profile without your premission. It just doesnt seem right. if i get rid of my face book now, and 10years from now, when i am trying to be a laywer, they look back on my profile, and dont like what i say, It should matter. I was much younger, and most likely grew up a lot. Im pretty sure they wouldnt like someone in there personal things with them knowing, so why so it to other people. It doesnt make a lot of sense to me. Or maybe thats just because I have about 15 more questios, that you probly couldnt even answer ?

I agree with this tips about losing weight! for example "stand up" I believe if you do stand up when you take a call or something like that, you can get into the habit and do it more offen. Also it says " by standing up, it burns 1 1/2 carories then sitting does" and its not rocket science to do.another one is "dont get meals infront of the tv". I get in front of the tv all the time, and when im done and ready to stand up, I feel tried, weak, and even more lazy then I was before. And i also heard if you sit in front of the tv and eat, you get the idest ( that is when you get a tons of food, then get really sleepy after words). that is how all the extra fat from the food, stays withn your body.some foods that you get can have extra fat, and sugar but it stores it in your body for later. exp. if you go running or walking or even just excrising ,the extra fat and sugar are being used, but it a good way, But if you sit aroung, on the computer or watching tv, the extra fat and sugar is not being used, so it may go to a place in your body that doesnt need it and it creates more fat that shouldve been bruned off, but wasnt. So it adds!

the article , everyone is a criminal speaks the truth . the article was mainly saying if you every broke the law, even the tinyest law there is, you are still a criminal. it also says, people put the criminal that have been catch, an even harder time then the ones that haven been catch yet. but we dont know who those people are, and thats why i want to explain this article in my point of view.

Is everyone a criminal?
To me , nobody can say everybody is a criminal! They are not watching everybodies every move, its impossible. There can be some people who have never broken a law a day in there life, but we wouldn't know because we are not them and we are no following them around 24/7. But yes I do think about 90% of the people in the united states are criminals, just by walking a red light, or smoking under age, speeding way past the speed limits, or even drunk drving.
Its hard to catch everybody doing something wrong. We would need a lot more cops then what we hae now. We wouold also need a lot of jails and better space, It would just be unnecessary.

do you think people are wrong for loking down on one another ?
I do think it is wrong , expescially when you are most likely doing the same thing. Nobody can judge but god. And, its nobodies place to tell you if your right or wrong ( when it not your job too )!

This article is explaining, how professionals photo shop there pictures to make their super models, or what ever they are doing, look better! they would/can take 10 to 20pounds off of a persons face, chest or even butt. Or they can make those parts look bigger and better. They can a lot remove any bumps you may have on your face, and make it look flawless. And thats what ever girl ( or boy ) wants. Or is it ?

Can this cause a problem for our teenage boys, and girls to these photos. What kind of first impression will they have, and what thoughts will be going through there heads as they are looking at these photos. Some people say they will see these photos and think this is the way society really is, and this is what size you have to be, to maybe enter the fashion world. This can be very bad for our young teenage girls. first, some girls may already have low self-a-steam and seeing these pictures can bring it down even more. this can lead to losing weight that is not necessary, abusing body, or even succide !

knowing that this pictures are fake, its sending the wrong message to teenagers, and maybe even adults. when I say the wrong message, i mean being something you are not. Photo shopping pictures is not a bad thing but it can be, and what i mean by that is going over bored. if you are 200pounds, and they take off 100pounds, that is a big difference. So when your on a movie or tv show and you are still 100pounds, people are going to know something is up!

Like I said, photo shopping can be a good thing, but at the same time a bad thing !

for this blog post I will be talking about the explosion that happened in china. The article was mainly about the apple factories in china and how, basically they were treating the people how they were not suppose to be ( maybe because of laws ) also what goes on in these factories.
Apple is a really big success, but a lot of people don't think or worry about what goes on in these factories, or how they even make the phones. Do you think this is a problem ? I think this is not problem only because this is not the peoples fault. they didn't know what the workers were going through and its not like, the raised there hands for these type of things to happened. they are supporting of apple, if there were no supporter then apple wouldn't be as big as they are now! and this is a fact. Now that a lot of people know what is going on, i still don't think they are going to stop buying apple just because of the mistakes the company is making. Apple is really a popular company, and if they did stop selling it, the buyers and the fans of apple would most likely be upset, no matter what the cause is ! )
Also if this really was a big problem, I'm pretty sure who ever owns the company and who ever is the leader of it all, would have at least shut it down, or even made a whole lot of changes towards apple and its store. All around the world. Besides this article, i haven't heard anything else about this, not on the news, not in new papers, or even you tube. So it must not really big a big deal.

In this blog post , I will be talking about school.
It seems like school has become a problem to teens that are starting highscholl, or that have already been in highschool. But in parkway west the children have been complaing that they just don't know how to do the work. Is it because it is too hard? Do they need extra help? Are the teachers giving to much work in little time? Or are the kids just slacking off? They have also been complaning about the teachers!!!

I think the work the teachers give us at parkway is reasonable, but I also think the teachers need to speed more time teaching it to us ( if we complain we don't get it) instead of seding us after school. A lot of children can't stay after school for many personal reasons and teachers should understand. Also some teachers at parkway west work at the speed limit of th fastest sudent, and that should be the case. A lot of the students are very smart but it just takes them a little more time then other students to get the hang of it, and that's anoher thing teachers don't understand. They teach us a lesson on day & expect us to do 40problems the next day & want us to get it all right. For some students that's okay, bu for others its impossible and teachers don't understand. They are doing a really good job at being hard on us, but not a good job at teaching ( most of the time ). Some teachers ignore you when you have questions, Some teachers have smart mouths and don't expect the students t have comebacks, and some teachers are just lazy. My mom told me "if you want respect, you have to give it" and I reall don't think a lot of teachers know what that means. They tell the students to stay in a childs place, but if your an adult you should ignore the ignorant and do what a teacher does, and that doesn't include going back and forth with a student

Teachers should just think more before they do something which makes the kid react in a disrespectful way. That's what I think abou the teachers at parkway way west ( the teachers I have, 9th grade)

in this blog post, i will be talking about the weather we've been having here in Philadelphia.

It is January , the first day of winter was December 22 and we still haven't had snow, and alot of people are starting to wonder what is going on. since the weather is in this type change people think they can wear and do what they want ( because there is no snow ). for example, wearing tank tops, riding motorcycles, and coming outside with no jackets on. It is still winter and it is still cold no matter what the weather is outside, act like you know. No one can tell us why our weather still haven't really changed and there is nothing they can do about it but wait.
I think the reason it still hasn't snowed, is because of our environment. Our eirvorment is really messed up and people don't even pay attention on how much they mess it up just by throwing a little piece of gum rapper on the floor. It might seem crazy , but a lot of people agree. Maybe if everyone was to play there parts in our community the turn out will be a lot better. This change in our environmet didn't just start either , so by us waiting for someone esle to make th change , it is getting worse each and every day! If the snow doesn't come soon, people think this is a sign , the world might end. I really don't believe that the world is going to end ,but its makin me worry!.!!!...

For this blog post , I will be be writing about teen pregnancy.
Lately, i have been hearing a lot about people having babies, and teens getting pregnant,and having unprotected sex, which leds to having babies and abortions !

I feel as though, if you were grown enough to have to baby then you shouldn't have any problems with the consequences. I think girls let these boys out here get to their heads by saying " I love you " or " I want to be with you forever " and they listen. Girls don't understand what being grown really mean. To me I would defind 'being grown' as having a well paid job , having your own house, having you own money, and just talking care of yourself. But most girls don't see that, instaed thy have about 20 tattos, still live with their mom, and don't even have a clue about getting a job ( under the age of 20 ). Now a lot of times, everybodies situation is different and you can't say they are all the same because they're not. I mean some teenagers that are in this predicament try, when they don't have anybody to turn to or for help they have to do it on their own, and again that is understandable. But the teens that don't try , they have another thing coming. Most of these kids moms out here are about 5yrs older then them , and of corse that's bad ! I am not the one to jugde anyone but if you know you brought another life in to this world and your not doing anything to improve yourself or your baby , their is something wrong with you.

Ed Forchion calls himdelf the "New Jersey Weedman!" He will defend himself at his trial in April He has been at this for some time now, and in court he will try to prove that what he is doing is right ( making marijuana should be legal.) Now i will be explaining my thoughts about this summary, and why i chose this article.

By just reading the summary of this article, you can tell something isn't right.What I think aout this article really couldn't be put in words. This male is puting himself as long as a lot of or people in danger. For example he could get in a lot of trouble for having the marijuana and for selling it to people on the street ( which he did ). Also the people he is selling it to could get in trouble for again, having the marijuana and smoking it when it is not legal to have! Second he is showing how the young man show act or showing them it is ok to do what he is doing. Which it is not! For example, these young male and females see him on the news and or out on the street and see him making a living off selling drugs, so they might think "I hate school, well I can just sell drugs and get a whole lot of money off of that ) Not that is not the answer. He may not be trying to send this message out to young childrens and young adults but he is and who knows where they might end up or what could happen to their futures!!!

A 30 year old man was killed on a sunday, when he lost control when driving his pickup truck while spending on Roosevelt Blvd. near bridge st. The man was also driving northbound at 3:14 a.m. when he lost control of the truck and flipped several times. He was announced dead at Einstein Hosital at 3:39 a.m. Now i will explain , why I wrote about this article

The reason why I wanted to talk about this article is because a lot of accidents like this have been happening on the news a lot, and this 30 year old man died to young.Another reason I wrote this article is because a lot of people don't follow the rules for driving, and one of those laws are not to speed ( when your not suppose to ). Following the law is very important and you can see it in the 1st paragraph! Usually when people don't follow the law or rules there are consequences you have pay. Not saying it is a good thing, but this is why we have rules. For you to follow them.

I also think more people should look at the death of his man and/or any other man or women who have ueen through this kind of accident or worse, Death! And review what that person did wrong and learn from there mistake. We would have so many less death ( car accidents ) in american.

This blog post is going to be about one of " The Best News story Of 2011". There were a lot of great and heart breaking stories of 2011 but they were'nt all the best. A lot of crazy things and moments happened of that year as well, some things our people will never forget, some stories might even go down in history!
One of the best news stories of 2011 ( to me ) was the death of Steve Jobs. He was the owner of Apple. The computers, the phones, the ipods he owned it all. He is the one who came up with bright ideas for apple. For example, what was coming out next, the ipod 4 and 5! He had those ideas ready to share with the world but sadly he died. I did not know him personally but I knew his company, I think everybody did. A lot of people were and still are Apple fans. Apple has been out for some time and people loves his work and technology. Steve Jobs was good at what he did, and that was his job.He kept people up to date, he kept people happy within what he was doing, which was making apple computers and more. This is the best story of 2011 to me, because he brought some thing to our community, some thing that speaded through out the nation, some thing that people will never forget, and that was his apple computers!
Since Steve Jobs past a way, people wonder what are they going to do with the appleay. Well he pasted all of his designs and work to his vice president of the company and now he will continue the work of Steve jobs. Hopefully he can keep up the good work!!!......

Lisa Alyounes ,a wannabe actress beat up her boyfriend on the N.J. Transit River Line. punching, slapping, pushing, kicking, and spitting in his face. The video was taken by a passenger on the train and the video ended up on YouTube!
I think this was very uncalled for. understanding that he's a guy and she is a girl, he didn't want to hurt her because females usually get the leading cases on incidents like this. After this situation has occurred i do feel as though he shouldve have went farther with this. he should have took repercussions like getting a restraining order to make sure this never occur again. He also should have pressed charges for all the damage that had endured.
As female, i could never find myself hurting someone like that because i believe that everyone should be treated as they want to be treated! it just isn't right.This incident was very dysfunctional and no one deserves to be treated like this!
